Girlanda Antonio & Angelo S.r.l., given its long-time policy of searching for maximum reliability and safety for its products, has considered CE certification a primary goal ever since this certification started. The following paragraphs give a brief summary of the contents and enforcement of the so-called Machine Directive in order for us to be perfectly clear and transparent with our customers.
As the following text points out it is important to remember that certain categories of machine (see attachment V to the Machine Directives) can be marketed with autocertification meaning that each manufacturer can market his machines, putting the CE brand on them, without having carried out any test or inspection (and obviously assuming all relative responsibilities in this regard): while on the one hand this has permitted companies to gradually certify their products, on the other it may have permitted unscrupulous manufacturers to market equipment that does not comply with safety standards.
The CE plate is not enough, the purchaser must also be delivered:
- The Statement of Compliance
- The Operating Manual
having prepared a technical file composed of other documents (projects, test calculations, tests, inspections and type-testing) which must be kept by the manufacturer (see the text mentioned below).
